BLUE BLOODS

Pg. 260-263
Schuyler and Bliss go talk to Charles Force because Cordelia says he is the only one who can help them. Charles says Dylan was free. The policemen had made a mistake and there was nothing to worry about.
>>I dont like the way Charles is acting like everything is fine. He says there are no Silver Bloods. If there are no Silver Bloods then whats killing the Blue Bloods?
Pg 264-269
Schuyler, Oliver and Bliss go to the place they are holding Dylan and Bliss says she heard her father say he was in room 1001. Schuyler says she knows all the elevator operators beacause she used to stay here a lot. They all three got to room 1001 with no problems, but when they got to the room, it was empty. The TV was on and the beds were not made so someone was staying in that room, but Dylan was not there.
>>I wonder where Dylan could have gone. Did he break free or did someone kill him?
Pg. 270-273
Everyone went home and since Schuyler lived a little farther away she decided to walk home. The Silver Blood creature attacked her again, but this time it wasnt Beauty that saved her. It was Jack Force. Schuyler had learned the sacred language from Cordelia and said the magic words to make the creature show himself for a split second. When the creature left, Jack and Schuyler both recognized the face. It was Charles Force.
>>Is Charles trying to kill Schuyler because she isnt supposed to exsist?
Pg. 274-281
Jack and Schuyler go to talk to Charles, who is in Schuyler's mother's hospital room. It turns out that Silver Bloods are shape shifters, so when the Silver Blood showed Charles's face it was because he knew it would confuse them. Charles explains that Dylan is safe in a hotel, but Schuyler says she was just there and Dylan was no where in sight. Now, they think Dylan is the one who attacked Schuyler. They say they need to capture him immediately.
>>This is a circle of mysteries. I had an idea that Dylan might be bad in some way but I didnt think he was a Silver Blood.
Pg. 282-288
Dylan shows up at Bliss's house. He is sitting on her bed and he warns her that something is wrong with him. He had just tried to kill Schuyler. He said he didnt know what was going on. He also said,"They are coming." He warned Bliss that something bad was going to happen. The next thing Bliss remembers was waking up screaming. She went in the bathroom and found Dylan's jacket covered in blood. Jordan came in the bathroom terrified. She said she heard something come in the and it sounded like it was strangling Bliss. Bliss looked in the mirror and noticed bruises around her neck.
>>Dylan is being taken over by a Silver Blood. He wouldnt hurt Schuyler on purpose.
Pg. 289-294
Schuyler got home and noticed the house seemed different. She walked upstairs to Cordelia's room and found her laying on the floor covered in blood. Schuyler had a feeling that Dylan was the one who had been there. Cordelia said she could live any longer. She told Schuyler that she needed to find her grandfather because he was the only one who knew how to defeat the Silver Bloods. Cordelia also explained that Schuyler's mother is Gabriel, an Archangel.
>>This whole family tree thing is really confusing.
Pg. 295-300
The funeral for Cordelia was standing room only. After the service, Schuyler and Jack walked outside where it was just another day. Jack apologized for letting the relationship between them become so strange. Schuyler said she understood because he had to do what he had to do and she had to do what she had to do. Schuyler says goodbye knowing Jack wont help with the Silver Bloods. Oliver on the other hand, was right there waiting at the car for her. She knew that she would never be alone because Oliver would always be there.
>>I think maybe in the next book Jack will end up helping Schuyler.
Pg. 301-302
Schuyler and Oliver went to Times Square to see the billboard. The billboard had a picture of Schuyler and Bliss. They were advertising for Civilization- the jeans. It was a very good picture, but then Schuyler saw a billboard with Mimi's face on it. Of course Mimi had heard about Schuyler and Bliss' photoshoot so she had to get her own. Schuyler and Oliver went to the news stand and picked up a newspaper. There was an article about a girl who had gotten killed at a school dance. Schuyler knew the Silver Bloods were back. She says that normally, the Blue Bloods would stand by and let it happen, but not now. Schuyler was a vampire and she was going to end the Silver Bloods.
>>This was a very good book. I really liked it. It leaves you hanging at the end of chapters so you dont want to put the book down

BLUE BLOODS

Pg. 203-206
Schuyler and Jack are talking about how they need to stop this thing thats attacking all the vampires. They start kissing, but they are inturrupted when Mimi comes in the room and says Bliss's parents are here. They all 3 run out the door and Schuyler tries to tell Jack that she loves him but she gets choked up and cant speak. Jack looks at her and says "I feel the same way about you." with a hand on his heart.
>>Schuyler and Jack are in love. :) But Schuyler said when Mimi walked in on them kissing she seemed jealous, but Jack and Mimi are twins. why would she be jealous?
Pg. 207-218
Schuyler and Oliver are friends again. Schuyler told him she was sorry and he accepted it. It turns out that Oliver is part of a family that kind of watches over the Blue Bloods. They help them in any way possible. Oliver takes Schuyler to a library where the whole history is of the Blue Bloods. Schuyler tells Oliver about the creatures killing the vampires and they decide to look through the history and try to find something to stop this creature.
>>Its really good that Oliver and Schuyler are friends again. Schuyler really trusts Oliver and she needs him in her life.
Pg. 219-224
Mimi and Jack go to talk to their father. Their father says that Schuyler is not a Blue Blood. She is but she isnt. They says she is not in the memories so she isnt supposed to exsist. Jack says she is in his memories, but when he focuses on the memories, he realizes that the girl he thought was Schuyler is really her mother.
>>Is there something wrong with being half Blue Blood half human? Would something terrible happen if she stayed alive?
Pg. 225-231
Schuyler and Oliver see the cops escorting Dylan out of the school. Bliss runs up to Schuyler and explains that they think Dylan is the one who murdered Aggie. They said Dylan's DNA was on Aggie. Schuyler calms Bliss by reminding her that Aggie was a vampire and a human couldnt kill a Blue Blood. Bliss is comforted by this and they start to make a plan to figure out who is setting Dylan up.
>>Could Dylan be the creature that is killing all the Blue Bloods?
Pg. 232-235
Jack tells Schuyler that he was wrong about finding the creatures. He says there is nothing thats killing the Blue Bloods and they should just forget about it. Bliss and Schuyler realize that it is up to them to save Dylan. No body else will help them.
>>I still dont understand why Jack has to stay away from Schuyler just because she isnt full Blue Blood.
Pg. 236-241
Schuyler, Oliver, and Bliss went to Dylan's apartment to talk to his parents. They wanted to explain that Dylan was with Bliss on the night of Aggie's death so they knew he was innocent, but when they got there, the doorman said they moved out the previous day. This confused the three because they couldnt understand why the family would move in such a hurry and why they would leave while Dylan was in jail.
>>I'm beginning to wonder if Dylan's family had something to do with Aggie's death. Why else would they pack up and leave so suddenly?
Pg. 242-247
Oliver, Schuyler and Bliss do more research and they find a book, a diary of somebody who had written along their journey to Plymouth. They decide to talk to anyone who barrowed the book, but sadly its been a while. Everyone is dead except for the last person. initials: CVA. They think its Cordelia Van Alen. Schuyler says she will talk to her the next day when she gets back for lunch. Oliver says they need to start thinking like Blue Bloods. The new plan to get Dylan out of jail is to bust him out. Nothing they say will ever convince the cops that Dylan is innocent.
>>It doesnt seem fair that they cant prove Dylan is innocent.
Pg. 248-256
The next day Schuyler talked to Cordelia about the book they had found. She explained that times have changed and the person that wrote the diary wouldnt think the same way. Schuyler asked why she thought that and Cordelia said, "Because I am Catherine Carver. That is my diary." Cordelia told her story of coming over on the mayflower and she talked about Silver Bloods. She thinks the Silver Bloods are the ones killing the Blue Bloods. Something has disturbed them and they are letting people know they are still around.
>>What make a silver blood? Is it like an evil version of a Blue Blood?
Pg. 257-259
At the next meeting Schuyler talked to Jack about the story Cordelia had told her. Jack said it was just a myth and that no body knew if the Silver Bloods actually exsisted. She said she was going to figure something out, with or without his help. All he said was, "There's nothing I can do to stop you?" Schuyler said, "No." and left it at that
>>I think its good that Schuyler is going to keep searching for things even though no body is helping her.

BLUE BLOODS

Pg. 137-144
Schuyler goes to the Committee meeting. Mimi is there, Jack is there, Bliss too. A lady gets up and starts talking. She asks if anyone has experienced any changes in the past year. Blue veins showing in the arms- Schuyler immediately looked at her arms. The lady asked if anyone's appetite has changed, such as craving raw meat instead of cooked- Bliss went pale. The lady continued to explain that these were nomal symptoms of The Blue Bloods. Mimi makes a side comment and its the first reference to the title. It was her favorite part of being a Blue Blood. One of the lucky ones. The chosen ones.
>>This is a lot of stuff to learn. There are so many vampire rules to follow and if somebody messes one up, they are in big trouble.
Pg. 145-152
After the meeting, most of the new members got together and talked about what had just happened, but Schuyler left as quickly as possible. She thought this whole thing was crazy. Out of no where, Jack popped up in front of her and explained that she had to accept it because its who she really is. He told her about the fangs. The fangs in her mouth. She had had fangs all along, but never noticed them before. Jack explained that she could extend and retract them if she focused enough. Schuyler didnt like the idea of being a vampire, but after a while, she like the idea. She liked have teeth sharp enough to pierce human flesh. She couldnt wait to tell Oliver, but then she remembered that the Red Bloods (humans) couldnt know. She could have one person to "fuel" off of but that was it. An important vampire rule was: when ever you drink... dont drain the body. Thats the worst you could do. you could have one person to hydrate yourself when you needed it, but that person could tell.
>>This is a cool chapter. Dr. Pat must be a Blue Blood too. She knew everything when Schuyler and Bliss went to talk to her.
Pg. 153-157
Bliss and Mimi go to get a steak... cooked very rare. Bliss is still asking questions and Mimi is gladly asnswering. Bliss asked about the flashback memories and Mimi said she can remember settling in Plymouth. Mimi asks Bliss if she has had any flashbacks but Bliss wont tell that she saw Mimi kissing a groom and the groom looked a lot like her brother, Jack.
>>I think Jack and Mimi have some weird vampire relationship, but not boyfriend/girlfriend. IDK how to explain it.
Pg. 158-164
Schuyler talks to her grandma, Cordelia, about the whole vampire thing. Cordelia wouldnt answer much but Schuyler figures out why she cant call her grandma. Technically, Cordelia is not Schuyler's grandma, but Schuyler is her responsibility and thats why she is in Schuyler's life. Schuyler realizes thats about all Cordelia is going to say for the day.
>>This is a lot of information to through on somebody. It wouldnt matter on the age, its a lot to handle.
Pg. 165-169
Schuyler went through the rest of the week without talking to Oliver or Jack. Friday, after school, Schuyler went to the hospital to see her mother. She had nothing else to do since Oliver didnt invite her over to his house like every other Friday. She had a plan. She wanted to try asking her mother questions instead of reading the paper. When she got to her mother's room, she looked in the window and saw the guy with gray hair sitting there again. He vanished, just like last time. Schuyler asked her mother why she was in a coma. Nothing could hurt vampires. Nothing could kill vampires. So why was her mother in a coma?Schuyler asked about her father too, but there was no answer. Not even a twitch of a muscle.
>>I think Schuyler has the right idea. If she asks questions then maybe her mother will wake up and answer them.
Pg. 170-178 Schuyler and Bliss got picked for a photoshoot. The two main people were Blue Bloods and that why they chose Schuyler and Bliss. The photoshoot was for Civilization, which was the hottest jean company. Schuyler and Bliss become really close during this shoot. Schuyler even says she is starting to like Bliss more and more. The girls thought it was funny that Mimi didnt get the shoot because Mimi is a Blue Blood too. >>The girls had a great time at the photoshoot.
Pg. 179-184
Some kind of creature attacks Schuyler. She is walking home from the photoshoot when she hears something behind her. She turns around and sees a dark figure against the wall. The creature attacks her. It grabs her throat and chokes her. Schuyler manages to scream and Bliss hears her and runs over to see if she is ok. Schuyler's dog, Beauty, appears and attacks the creature too. Beauty scares the creature off and Schuyler is ok.
>>I think every vampire has a dog as a kind of sidekick. The dog would help when ever there is trouble.
Pg. 185-195
Schuyler goes to Bliss's house because she is throwing a party. Schuyler needs to find Jack and tell him about the thing that attacked her. Jack says he knew something was hunting the Blue Bloods. He said he had no idea what it was but he knew it was something powerful. He then explains that he knows this because Aggie was a vampire and if nothing can kill vampires then how could she die? He knew there was something very powerful hunting them.
>>This chapter is tying everything together. The death of Aggie now makes sense.
Pg. 196-202
Bliss and Dylan go to her bedroom to be alone and she wants him to know about the whole vampire thing, but before anything can happen two sophmore girls open the bedroom door and Bliss seees her father standing there. Dylan grabs his stuff and runs for the door. Bliss just sits there in her room and her father asks what happened to all the funiture.
>>I wonder is Dylan will talk to Bliss again... while he was running out the door, Bliss thought that he would never be hers.

BLUE BLOODS

Pg. 72-79
At the funeral, Bliss was extremely uncomfortable. She doesnt like funerals because she hate the thought of a dead body in the casket. Aggie's casket was closed, but Bliss still couldnt stand to sit there. She decided to sneak out and when she made eye contact with Mimi she mouthed "bathroom" but when she got to the door, she noticed Dylan ward was sneaking out too. Dylan and Bliss decided to skip together. They went to the museum and ended up kissing. Bliss said she felt the world go gray and then it was as if she was in the desert. She could taste the sand and feel the heat. Then suddenly, she began to scream.
>>Is Dylan a vampire? What happened to Bliss?

Pg. 80-88
Schuyler went to the doctor because the veins in her arms were really visible. Worse than it should be. Dr. Pat seemed to know exactly what it was. She asked questions and Schuyler answered. Pat asked, "Do you get dizzy and forget where you are or where you've been?" Schuyler answered, "Yes."
"How old are you?"
"15."
"And no flashback memories yet? Hmm."
"What?"
Dr. Pat explained she was right on time and she had some cream for the veins. She also told Schuyler that they would see each other again in the spring. Schuyler asked what would happen between now and spring but the doctor wouldnt say another word.
Mimi shops ALL the time. She shops when she is happy or depressed. While she was trying on a dress, she decided to flirt with a guy in the store. She came out of the dressing room and asked the guy to zip up her dress. They end up leaving the store together and get in his yellow Lamborghini. As he rests his hand on the back of the passenger seat he puts his hand on her shoulder, but Mimi takes his hand and places it on her breast. She says she could almost smell his blood. The rich taste that made her mouth water.
>>I'm starting to think that maybe Mimi and Jack are vampires... IDK
Pg. 89-95
Bliss went to Dr. Pat too. She had to talk to someone about what happened at the museum with Dylan. If she told her parents they would say she was insane. Dr. Pat asked what happen and Bliss told her that she was there with Dylan, then the kissed and the second that their lips touched she must have blacked out because the next thing she remembered was walking down the American wing and looking at furnature. Bliss also explained that she didnt scream, but she could hear someone scream. Someone far away. Dr. Pat said that this was normal. She told Bliss that she had nothing to worry about and that she should go home and not give it another thought. Later that night, Bliss woke up and was really hungry. She went to the kitchen and opened the fridge, but the fruit and yogurt didnt sound very good. She found a pound of raw hamburger and ate that. "What are you doing?!?" asked Jordan. With blood dripping down her chin, Bliss stared at her. BobiAnne was standing in the corner and told Jordan to go to bed and not worry about what Bliss was doing. Bliss whipped her chin and looked at her step mother. BobiAnne said there was some filet mignons too. Bliss stood there and thought about it for a minute. How was this nomal? What did Dr. Pat mean by this is nothing to worry about? she thought. Bliss then found a packet of steaks and ate them too.
>>What is going on?!?!?! Raw meat? Bliss must know that Dr. Pat is insane. Everyone should know that eating raw meat is wrong. Something is going on and everyone seems blind. They dont see it.
Pg. 96-102
The next day at school, all the kids were called to the chapel, but not because of another death. It was a career talk. Schuyler slept through the whole thing, but there was a model there. Linda Farnsworth was asking kids to walk up and down the hallway and then she would inspect them and if they were good enough she would take their names and try to find a gig for them. Mimi and Bliss got it. Then the bell rang for the next class to start and as Schuyler was walking out of the chapel, Linda stopped her and asked if she could get her number because she thought that Schuyler had a pretty face and could pass as a model. Schuyler didnt really accept it, but she didnt decline it either. After that, Schuyler went to art. She was working on a sculpture and in between brushstrokes she looked up and saw Jack Force. He was leaning over another girl's shoulder. Schuyler decided he had gotten another girlfriend so she pushed Jack Force out of her thought for good.
>>I think Schuyler is trying to convice herself that she doesnt have feelings for Jack. She can try all she wants but sooner or later she will realize that you cant lie to your heart.
Pg. 103-108
The only thing Bliss could think about was Dylan. She looked up from her art project and watched Dylan flick mud at Schuyler and Oliver. After class, they had to go down the stairs in a single file line because it was so narrow. Bliss ended up right next to Dylan. She said hi and he motioned for her to go ahead of him. She kind of hesitated for a minute to see if he would say anything, but she found herself going down the stairs alone because Dylan was waiting for Schuyler and Oliver. During lunch Bliss was going to get her books for her next class, but she stopped and asked Schuyler about Dylan. She asked if he had said anything about her or if he liked her. Schuyler said Dylan would probably like to go to the dance with her. Bliss smiled and got all giggly. She wrote a note to Dylan asking him to the dance and slipped it in his locker. She was surprised she had to try to get this guy's attention. She usually got pretty much any guy she looked at.
>>I wonder what will happen between Bliss and Dylan. Does he like her or is he just really friendly?
Pg. 109-116
Schuyler and Oliver were sitting in Oliver's room doing nothing, when Schuyler made a comment about Dylan going to the dance. At that moment Oliver burst out, "Let's go too. You and me." Schuyler didnt like the idea, but decided to go anyway. When they got there, they found Dylan and Bliss together, but left them alone and went to find something to eat. They were standing alone, in their own little corner. They realized that nobody cared if they were there or not. They decided to go to The Bank because that club had better music. While walking out the door, Schuyler noticed Jack Force. She sucked in a deep breath and tried not to look at him, but he said, "Leaving so soon?" Oliver explained that they were going to The Bank. Jack said why dont you stay. You might have fun. Schuyler told Oliver she would meet up with him later. Oliver went to get a drink and Schuyler walked to the dance floor with Jack. When she was with Jack, everyone noticed her. They began dancing and she could feel the sweat beads forming under his shirt.
>>I knew Schuyler wouldnt be able to push Jack out of her mind. She cant hide her feelings from herself. Its impossible.
Pg. 117-125
Mimi was waiting for her date to arrive so she could go to the dance. She was going with the Italian guy she met in the clothes store. When he finally got there, she said she was driving, and they headed for the school. Mimi got there and saw Bliss making out with Dylan and was upset. Mimi took Bliss to the bathroom and asked her why she was with Dylan of all people. She said Bliss could have any guy she wanted and she chose him. She didnt get it. Bliss asked why the Italian guy followed them in the girls bathroom, but Mimi said she would deal with that later.
While this is going on, Schuyler and Jack are still dancing. As they dance, the room changes. Its still the same room, but its about 100 years earlier. Jack isnt in the tan pants and blue blazer, but he was in a tux. When they stopped dancing, the room went back to normal, and Jack was in his same clothes. Schuyler asked if he saw it too and he said he did. All of a sudden, they heard a scream and Aggie's death entered both of their minds. In the bathroom, Mimi's date had passed out and a girl had screamed because the color was drained from his face. Jack walked in and started lecturing Mimi. Schuyler heard a few words he spoke. "....stepped over the line.......you could have killed him......" Schuyler, Dylan and Bliss decided this was a good time to leave. Jack didnt even notice Schuyler had left, he was too busy talking to Mimi.
>>I wonder... did Mimi attack the Italian guy?
Pg. 126-131
Schuyler goes to the hospital every Sunday. She goes to read to her mother. Her mother has been in a coma for most of Schuyler's life. 10 years have gone by and they doctors say she could wake up any moment. Schuyler goes to her mother's room and looks in the window. There is a man, but when Schuyler takes a second look the man is gone. He is no where to be found. Schuyler begins to read the weddings and celebrations section of the newspaper. She thinks her mother likes that part best. As she reads, she looks for any sign of movement, but nothing happens. She takes her mother's hand and begins to cry.
>>I think it very good that Schuyler goes to see her mother every Sunday. Some people would think well she isnt responding so why would I want to go sit there? Its pointless.
Pg. 132-136
Monday at school, Schuyler was ignored by Jack- like usual and Oliver wasnt talking to her. He was upset about Friday at the dance. Schuyler had spent most of the night with Jack. Oliver was upset because Schuyler was changing as a person. He said he didnt even know who she was anymore. She was joining the "Committee" and she never used to think about that kind of stuff. Schuyler decided she would go to one Committee meeting because her grandmother wanted her to, then she would drop it. No big deal.
>>I have a feeling that something is going to happen and Schuyler will not be able to drop the Committee meetings. This story is really good. I like it a lot

BLUE BLOODS

Pg. 7 to 15
Schuyler and Oliver are waiting in line at The Bank. The Bank is not a bank, its a nightclub. A club for people 21+ years of age... Schuyler and Oliver are 15. They are praying they can get in with the fake IDs they have. While standing in line, Schuyler sees a blond haired guy get out of a cab across the street. She swears she sees him dive in front of a taxi that is speeding by. She runs across the street, expecting to see a dead body, but when she gets there, the guy is counting the change in his wallet. The moment Schuyler sees the guy's face she knows who it is. Its Jack Force. Jack is the most popular guy in school. Head of the lacrosse team and he always got the head part in the musicals/plays. He was the kind of guy who would never talk to someone like Schuyler, but on this day... he was flirting with her. Schuyler was having a great time until Oliver interrupted. He said they had to go if they were going to get in to The Bank. Schuyler and Oliver head towards The Bank as Jack Force walks in the opposite direction. Schuyler and Oliver manage to get through the doors of The Bank. Fake IDs and all.
>>It sounds like Jack Force is the guy that every girl wants to date and every guy wants to be friends with. Schuyler reminds me of myself. She has a couple friends and is not really noticed in school. She is just another kid in the class.
Pg. 16 to 22
Next to The Bank, there is a different kind of nightclub. The kind that existed once every decade. Mimi and Jack went to this kind of club. Mimi's little "crowd" and Jack were sitting in a room, but every went to have a cigarette break, everyone that is, except Mimi and her date. Mimi says her date smells extremely good. She says just one bite but there are too many witnesses around. Since Mimi's date was drunk and passed out on the couch, she went to dance with other guys. Mimi danced with these guy for hours at a time. When she returned to her drunken date she realized that Bliss had gone to have a cigarette, but never came back.
>>Mimi seems to be the biggest player. I dont think she cares who she is with as long as she has some one.
Pg. 23-28
Bliss goes outside for a cigarette, while she is digging for a match, Dylan Ward offers her a light. They talk for a while and Bliss begins to realize that Dylan is just like her. He is a transfer student like her and he doesnt fit in very well. Bliss was a transfer and Mimi took her by the hand and accepted her. Bliss feels lost but doesnt say much about it because she doesnt really want anyone to know.
>>I really like this story because it about kids in high school. Its easy to relate to.

Pg. 29-37
The following Monday at school the students are called to the chapel for some news. No one knows whats going on, but when they get setteled Dean Molloy explains that Aggie Carondolet had died over the weekend. Dylan Ward is surprised because he had talked to her a little on Friday night and he had no idea that would be one of the last times he would see her. Dean Molloy says school will be let out at noon due to the death.
>>This is a big deal in the school because there are about 40 kids in each class so the school is almost like Grundy. Not very big, everyone knows everyone.

Pg. 38-42
After the news of Aggie's death, Jack and Mimi were told they had to go to the office and talk to the Headmistress. While they were in the office, they were told they could go home and have the rest of the day off. The committee understood how close they were with Aggie. Jack and Mimi leave the office and discuss the death. Jack says Aggie's body was empty. The blood had been drains completely. After their discussion, Jack said he was going back to class even though he was told not to, and Mimi was going shopping because she needs an outfit for the funeral.
>>I'm kind of curious about the relationship between Mimi and Aggie. Mimi doesnt seem to care that her friend died. All she cares about is getting a new outfit. Does she care at all?

Pg. 43-47
Schuyler went to her second period class. The teacher, Mr. Orion was asking about any memories anybody had with Aggie. Bliss thought about Friday night, at the club. Aggie was found in the "closet" of the Block 122 club. The closet was a room in the back of the club where the druggies hung out. Most people thought Aggie had died of a drug overdose, but Bliss knew she didnt touch drugs. Drugs were looked down upon. Bliss make a comment about how much Aggie loved her dog, and just like the conversation went to something describing how pets are people too. Schuyler like Mr. Orion, but she hated the way he let the conversation go. Jack walked into class late and the only open seat was next to Schuyler. She didnt know why it was such a big deal, she had sat next to him before. She got sick of listening to the conversation about pets so she started to doodle in her notebook. She realized that she was drawing a profile of Jack, but quickly covered it when Jack tapped her paper and motioned toward a note he had written on his paper. "Aggie didnt die of an over dose. Aggie was murdered."
>>How does Jack know what happened to Aggie? was he there? did he see it? if he knows something that no one else knows why doesnt he say something?

Pg. 48-56
Bliss walked out the doors of Duchesne and saw her step mother, BobiAnne, waiting for her. Sliss was slightly embarrassed and she wanted to take a taxi cab homelike every other kid, but she walked to the car and got in. When they got home, BobiAnne handed Bliss an envelop that had come in the mail that day. The envelop was an invitaion to join The Blood Bank charity. At school it was called The Committee. The Committee was bery popular. Bliss had a sister in 6th grade, named Jordan. While Bliss was in her room, Jordan knocked on the door and asked a few questions about Aggie. She said she knew that Bliss knew exactly what happened to Aggie, but Bliss denied everything, explaining that it was a drug overdose.
>>What would Jordan know? How would she know if Bliss knew exactly what happened? This story is getting really good. I like it a lot :)

Pg. 57-64
When school let out, Schuyler went home and went to her room. Schuyler shut the door behind her dog, Beauty. Schuyler was startled when she heard "Home so soon?" but when she turned around she realized it was Cordelia, her grandmother. Schuyler was forbidden to call Cordelia Grandma. Cordelia announced that supper was at six and left the room. Schuyler began to wish she had a normal life. She had no parents, only her grandma as her gaurdian. Schuyler got a text message from Oliver that said, MISS U BABE. Schuyler was happy to know she had a true freind like him.
>>Oliver seems like the kind of guy who will be there when ever you need him. Schuyler is lucky to have some one in her life.
Pg. 65-71
Aggie's funeral was in the chapel at Duchesne. Mimi, Jack and their father, Charles were in the front row. Bliss walked in the door, wearing black. BobiAnne walked in, wearing black, but Jordan walked in wearing white from head to toe. Mimi noticed a lot of people were in white and this confused her. Who wore white to a funeral? After the funeral service, Charles was approached by Cordelia. They talked about Aggie's death and Cordelia said, "This could have been prevented, you know. The kids should have been warned." Charles kept saying, "Not here." Cordelia then speaks of a girl named Gabreielle and Charles freaks out. Mimi is curious about this girl too. Charles dropped the conversation at that, and walked away from Cordelia. Mimi notcied Jack walking towards Schuyler. Mimi didnt like the way Jack looked at Schuyler. She thought Jack could only look at one person that way..... her.
>>What was going on with the conversation between Charles and Cordelia? Did they have some past situations like this one with Aggie? Why does Mimi think Jack can look at her that way, but no one else? Does she want to be more than a sister to Jack?? Its a little weird...

Catcher in the Rye- Chapter 26

Holden ends the story there. He refuses to explain what happened after that day. He says he went home, got sick and left the apartment. He is in asylum now. He says he might go to school next fall but doesnt want to discuss it. He says When D.B. comes to visit he doesnt like to talk about it either because he misses all the people in this story.

Holden could do really well in school if he applied himself. He is talking about applying himself so hopefully everything turns out ok for him.

Catcher in the Rye- Chaper 25

Holden goes to the station and spends the night there. The next morning he leaves a letter for Phoebe. The letter explained that he was going to hike west and never return home or to school. He told her to meet him at the museum. When she showed up she had her bags packed and said she was going with him. Holden tells her no and she gets mad and doesnt talk to him. He says if she will talk to him he will take her to the zoo. The get to the carousel and Phoebe wants to ride it so Holden buys her a ticket and watches her ride. Holden says he is so happy he could have cried.

I think its good that Holden is having this time with Phoebe. Will this make it harder for him to leave?

Catcher in the Rye- Chaper 24

Holden goes to Mr. Antolini's house. He welcomed right away. The apartment was a mess because the Antolinis had just had some friends over. Mrs. Antolini brought some coffee and cake into the living room for Holden and Mr. Antolini, then she went to bed. Holden was tired and wanted to sleep, but since Mr. Antolini was in a talkative mood, he listened anyway. Mr. Antolini was talking to Holden about being kicked out of another school and what he wanted to do with his life. He wrote something down and asked Holden to keep it. He says he still has it. Holden and Mr. Antolini get the couch ready for bed and Holden lays down. Mr. Antolini says he is going to stay up for a little while. He says he would be in the kitchen if Holden needed anything. Holden was awake for a short while before he fell asleep. All of a sudden Holden woke up to something on his head. Mr. Antolini was sitting on the floor next to the couch, petting Holden's head. Holden asked him what he was doing, but the only answer he got was "nothing." Holden was very uncomfortable with that situation. He got dressed in a hurry saying he had to go the station and get his bags. Mr. Antonini said Holden was to come back when he got his bags so hewould leave the door unlatched so he could come back.

What was going on? Mr. Antolini seemed like an okay guy, but then he became the scary guy everyone stays away from.

Catcher in the Rye- Chapter 23

Holden leaves Phoebe's room for a minutes to call his old english teacher, Mr. Antolini. Holden tells him about being kicked out of another school, which surprises Mr. Antolini. Mr. Antolini says Holden can stay the night at his house if he wanted. Holden hangs up the phone and goes back to Phoebe's room. He asks her to dance and after a few songs they hear the footsteps of their parents. Holden hides in the closet until their mother tucked Phoebe in for the night. Holden explains that he plans to move west and live on his own. Phoebe gave him her christmas money she had been saving and Holden gave her his red hunting hat.

Is Holden going to move west before he tells his parents he was kicked out of school? I would like to know why Phoebe isnt more supportive. She could have encouraged him to do something other than run away.

Catcher in the Rye- Chapter 22

Holden goes back to Phoebe's room and gets her to listen. He attempts to explain why he is failing most of his classes and starts listing all the things he hates about school. Phoebe's response is accusing him of having hate for everything. He objects, but she pushes even more by telling him to name one thing he likes and he becomes distracted. Thinking about the nuns at breakfast and James Castle. James was a boy who jumped out of a window, at Elkton Hills School, while being teased by other boys. Holden finally tells Phoebe that he likes Allie and she reminds him that Allie is dead. She starts asking what he wants to do with his life and the only thing he says is "If a body catch a body comin' through the rye." Holden says he wants to be the catcher in the rye. He wants to catch children if they get too close to a cliff's edge. Phoebe says Holden had heard the words wrong.

Did something so simple like a little song/poem inspire Holden so much? Was that kind of a turning point in his life?

Catcher in the Rye- Chapter 21

As Holden tells the new elevator operator that he wants to visit the Dicksteins, he is relieved that the usual operator is there. He sneaks into the apartment and goes to Phoebe's room, but she isnt there. He goes to D.B.'s room because he know Phoebe likes to sleep there when D.B. is gone, and finds her there. He looks through Phoebe's school books for a little while before he wakes her up. When he wakes her up, she is more than happy to tell him one thing after another. After she talks for a little bit, she realizes that Holden is home 2 days early and she knows right away that he was kicked out. Holden explains how he is failing almost every class and Phoebe keeps repeating that their father will kill him. Holden tries to explain, but Phoebe wont listen and covers her head with a pillow. At this point, Holen leaves to get some cigarettes.

Does he get stressed out that easily? He knew his parents would be upset thats why he didnt go home right away. So, why is he freaking out when Phoebe tells him something he already knew?

Catcher in the Rye- Chapter 20

After Carl leaves, Holden becomes very drunk. He makes his way over to the phone booth and calls Sally. Holen upsets Sally and her grandmother with this late night call. He then tries to make a date with the singer, which fails. The date attempt with the hat check girl fails too. Holden goes to the duck pond. As he is walking there, he drops the CD he got for Phoebe and becomes very upset. When he gets to the duck pond he is freezing. Even his hair is full of icicles. He thinks about catching pneumonia and pictures his funeral. He then thinks about going to Allie's grave and is grossed out at the thought of laying flowers on the belly of a dead person. Holden feels like he really needs to talk to Phoebe. He figures his parents would be sleeping by now and he could sneak in, talk to Phoebe, and sneak out without being heard. He leaves the pond and begins the long walk home.

I'm not quite sure why Holden wouldnt just tell his parents that he is out of school. Wouldnt it be easier than trying to find a place to go while running low on money?

Catcher in the Rye- Chapter 19

While Holden is at the bar, waiting for Carl, he thinks about his old school, Whooton. Carl used to tell all the boys about sex. Holden thinks Carl is amusing but fake. When Carl finally get there, Holden starts asking him questions about sex. Carl refuses to have that kind of discussion and suggests a psychoanalysis. Holden then thinks about Carl' father because he was a psychoanalyst. When Holden starts joking around about a father analyzing his son, Carl says he has to leave, so Holden is alone again.

Holden seems very immature. Like Carl said, he needs to grow up. he cant act 14 for the rest of his life.

Catcher in the Rye- Chapter 18

Holden goes to the drugstore for a sandwich. Again, he thinks about calling Jane. He lets his mind wander for a little while, but finally decides to call her. As the phone rings, he becomes very nervous, but he is sad when no one answers. He then calls Carl Luce, who he used to go to school with. Carl and Holden make plans to have drinks later that night. To make the time go by faster, Holden goes to movie, which he says was really boring. After the movie he went to the bar to meet Carl.

Holden is desperate for company. Does he even like Carl or is he just sick of being alone?

Catcher in the Rye- Chapter 17

At 2 clock, Holden meets Sally. They start making out in the taxi as they are on their way to the show. After the show, Sally says she wants to go ice skating. Holden agrees and quickly realizes then only reason she wanted to skate was so she could wear a short skirt. They take a break and sit inside. This is where Holden loses it. He talks about the fake people in society ans he says Sally and him should run away together, but she says his dreams are ridiculous. This upsets Holden so much that he calls her a pain in the ass and she starts to cry. Holden tries to apologize but Sally is too upset to listen. Holden leaves the skating rink without her.

I think Holden was upset because he really wants to know he isnt going to be alone for the rest of his life.

Catcher in the Rye- Chapter 16

After breakfast, Holden goes for a walk down Broadway. He thinks about the generous thing he had just done with the nuns. He would really like to get a CD for Phoebe. He is really close to her because she understands him. He can talk about his life and would get it. She wouldnt judge him or anything. He picks up the "Little Shirley Beans" CD. While walking again, Holden passes a boy who is singing "If a body catch a body coming through the rye." This cheered Holden up. Holden went to buy some tickets for an afternoon show, then he tries to find Phoebe. He looks in the park and asks a little girl who knows Phoebe and she says she thinks Phoebe is at the museum, but then she remembers that trip was the day before. Holden goes to the museum anyway. He remembers his class trip to this museum. He says he likes museums becuse everything stays exactly where it was.

I think Holden wants his life to be like a museum. Everything stays where it was. Not too much change... maybe something very little every now and then, but there is no drastic change.

Catcher in the Rye- Chapter 15

Holden calls Sally Hayes and makes plans to meet her later that day. Holden then goes to breakfast and meets two nuns. The nuns are going to teach in a school in Manhattan. Holden talks about Romeo and Juliet for a little. Then the nuns were leaving and Holden forced them to take 10 dollars as a charitable contribution. After they leave, he feels bad about only giving 10, but then he realized that he needs money to pay for his date with Sally later that day.

Where did this act of giving money come from? Holden never really seemed to be that kind of guy.

Catcher in the Rye- Chapter 14

Holden sits on the bed and smokes for a while, then goes to bed. He lays down and after a little while he hears a knock at the door. He gets up and sees the elevator operator and the prostitute. They are back to for the 5 dollars Holden didnt pay. The elevator operator beats up Holden and the prostitute takes the money out of his wallet. After Holden laid on the floor for a while, he managed to get up to the bed and went to sleep.

I knew the girl would be back, but I didnt think the elevator operator would be back too.

Catcher in the Rye- Chapter 13

Holden walks 41 blocks back to the hotel. While he is in the elevator, the elevator operator asks Holden if he wants a prostitue. Holden accepts. As he waits for the girl to show up he thinks about what has prevented him from sleeping with other women. When she arrives Holden becomes very nervous and says he cant do anything because he is recovering from an operation. He pays her 5 dollars and tells her to leave. She argues that the price is 10, but Holden refuses to pay any more, so she leaves in a hurry.

Did Holden seriously want a prostitute or did he just want someone to talk to? I dont think the prostitute is going to give up that easy. She will probably be back for the extra 5 dollars.

Catcher in the Rye- Chapter 12

Holden goes to a nightclub called Earnie's. He gets a table and listens to the conversations at the neighboring tables. The conversations depress him. He runs into a girl D.B. used to date, Lillian Simmons. Holden leaves the nightclub to get away from her.

Why did Holden leave the club? Did something happen between Holden and Lillian when D.B. was dating her?

Catcher in the Rye- Chapter 11

Holden walks to the lobby and sits in a chair. He begins to think about Jane again. He remembers they were playing checkers and her step father asked her for cigarettes. Jane didnt answer and started to cry. Holden kissed her face and comforted her. He then thought about going to the movies and holding her hand. They held hands all the time. He says she is very good person to hold hands with. It made you happy. He goes back to his room and notices the lights are out in the rooms he was watching earlier. He goes back downstairs and gets a taxi.

Where is Holden going to go this late?
I think Holden was in love with Jane. He really seems to miss her.

Catcher in the Rye- Chapter 10

Holden decides to go to the Lavernder Room (hotel's night club). He gets a table and tries to order a drink, but the waitress refuses. He explains that he is usually able to purchase alcohol because of his height and gray hair. Holden starts to flirt and dance with three girls. They tolerate him for a little while then start laughing at him. Holden is depressed when he figures out that the girls are obsessed with movie stars. This depresses Holden because he thinks the movie stars are all fake. He pays for the girls' drinks and leaves the room.

Why does Holden think everyone is a fake? He believes the movie stars are fake and most people in society are fake.

Catcher in the Rye- Chapter 9

Holden gets to Penn Station and wants to call someone but cant think of anyone to call. D.B. is in Hollywood, Phoebe is young and most likely sleeping, and he doesnt feel like calling Jane Gallagher or Sally Hayes. So he decides to take a cab to the hotel. He tries to make conversation with the driver by asking where the ducks go in the winter, but the driver doesnt respond much. When Holden gets to his hotel room, he looks out the window at the other side of the hotel and sees some weird situations. He sees a guy who is dressing up in women's clothes and he also sees a couple spitting drinks at each other. Holden wants to have some fun so he calls a girl named Faith Cavendish. She was recommended by a guy Holden had met at a party. He wants to make a date, but the girl refuses because she needs her "beauty sleep" She says she would love to meet the next day, but Holden doesnt want to wait that long so he hangs up without making arrangements.

Holden seems like he is desperate to talk to someone. He seems extremely lonely.

Catcher in the Rye- Chapter 8

Holden walks to the train station and gets on a late night train. An older, attractive woman sits next to him. She turns out to be the mother of Ernest Morrow (class mate). Holden does not like Ernest, but he tells plenty of lies, making Ernest seem like the most popular guy in school. The lady asks Holden why he is leaving school and Holden tells her another lie, stating that he has to go home for brain tumor operation.

Holden was hitting on a 40 year old! Thats a little weird..... If I was Ernest I would be very upset.

Catcher in the Rye- Chapter 7

Holden and Ackley talk for a while then they go to sleep. Holden is in Ackley's roommate's bed (the roommate is gone for the weekend). Holden tries to sleep, but is uncomfortable with the thought in his head. He keeps thinking about Jane and Stradlater fooling around. Holden decidees to leave for New York that night. He packs his bags and says "Sleep tight ya morons!" as he walks out the door.

I wonder if Holden will ever go back to Pencey. Just to visit...?? Where is he going to go late at night?

Catcher in the Rye- Chapter 6

Stradlater returns from his date with Jane and is upset about the paper Holden had written. He says the paper had nothing to do with the assignment. Holden is upset and throws it away. Holden decides to smoke in the room because he knewit would annoy Stradlater. Holden tries to ask about the date, but Stradlater refuses to tell him anything. They get in a fight and Holden leaves with a bloody nose. Stradlater goes next door to Ackley's.

I wonder if this is the first time Holden and Stradlater had a problem. They seemed to get along pretty well before the date. Does something little like that upset Stradlater that much?

Catcher in the Rye- Chapter 5

Holden and his friend, Mal Brossard, decide to go to a movie. Holden convinced Brossard to let Ackley come along with them because he doesnt do anything on Saturday nights. Holden says he isnt a big fan of movies so he isnt upset when they decide to skip the movie because Brossard and Ackley had already seen it. Instead, they have a burger, play a little pinball and go back to Pencey. When they got back to Holden's room Ackley is laying on Holden's bed, popping zits and teling stories of a girl he supposedly had sex with. Holden has heard this story before and each time Ackley tells it, he changes it. After a while, Ackley leaves because Holden has to work on Stradlater's paper. Stradlater said to write about a something descriptive like a house or a room, but Holden writes about a baseball glove. The glove was Allie's. Allie died of leukemia. Holden is really bothered by the loss of his brother. When he finished the paper, he stared out the window.

Holden must have been really close to his brother. He might be feeling guilty about something. I still dont understand why he would write a paper for someone else.

Catcher in the Rye- Chapter 4

When Stradlater goes to get ready for his date, Holden goes along too because he didnt have anyhing better to do. While they are in the "can" Stradlater asked Holden to write a composition paper for him. Holden doesnt really answer to the question. As Stradlater continued to get ready for is date, Holden asks about the girl he is going out with for the night. The girl turns out to be Jane Gallagher. A girl he had lived by and spent a summer with her. When they were young they played checkers a lot.

Its kind of funny the way things work out. Holden's roommate is going to date a girl that he used to spend a lot of time with. I dont understand why Holden would want to say hello, but he didnt. Is he going to try to find her later in the book or start having feelings for her?

Catcher in the Rye- Chapter 3

Holden turns out to be a very good liar. He leaves Spencer's and goes straight home. He didnt have anything in the gym. He gets to the dorm and starts reading a book he has already read. While reading, he is disturbed by his neighbor, Ackley. In the dorms, there is a shower in between every two rooms. Ackley is a senior nobody really likes. He has terribele pimples and weird teeth. He asks Holden if his parents knew he was being kicked out of school and Holdne says no. Holden's roommate, Stradlater, walks in the saying he had a date and wanted to wear Holden's jacket for the night. Stradlater needed to go shave before he went on his date so he left the room.

Stradlater seems like the guy who could be very nice, but could also be very mean. He seems like he could take people for granted. Ackley seems like an annoying person, but I think he could an ok guy. Why doesnt Ackley get along with Stradlater? Did something happen in the past?

Catcher in the Rye- Chapter 2

Holden goes to talk to Spencer. Spencer asks what Dr. Turmer had to say last time Holden went to see him. Spencer talks about Holden's parents. He calls them grand people. Holden notes that he hates the word grand because its a phony word. Holder also hates it when people repeat themselves after the person has already agreed or admitted to their point. Spencer starts asking if Holden really cares about his education. He says Holden knows absolutely nothing about history. Spencer starts reading Holden's essay aloud. The "essay" was about two paragraphs long with a note to Spencer saying it was ok if he flunked him. Spencer was trying to knock some sense into Holden but Holden didnt want to hear that speech and decided he should leave because he had to pick up equiptment in the gym.

Spencer is trying to help Holden but Holden wont stay long enough to listen. He doesnt want to hear the whole "education is important and you should try to straighten up" speech. Why doesnt Holden listen to what people are trying to tell him?

Catcher in the Rye- Chapter 1

Holden is very straight forward. He starts telling the story and makes it very clear that he is not going to start from the very beginning. He starts where he wants to start. He begins on the day of the football game... when he is saying good by to old Spencer because he is leaving Pencey Prep. Holden is very welcomed in the Spencer's home. Mrs. Spencer welcomes Holden and says that Mr. Spencer is in the other room.

The Spencers seem like his second family. I think its good that he has somebody he really likes to talk to since he doesnt see his family much. He seems like a very nice kid. Why is he being kicked out?
